Victoria Legal Aid

Victoria Legal Aid helps people with their legal problems with a focus on helping and protecting the rights of socially and economically disadvantaged Victorians. VLA can help in areas of criminal law, family law and some civil law matters. Services also include free legal advice, duty lawyers at court and education.

Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC)

The Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC) offers free legal assistance from its offices in Box Hill, Boronia and Healesville, with various outreach locations across Melbourne's east. In addition to direct legal services, ECLC also undertakes Community Development activities that empower clients, workers and the general community.

Ringwood Magistrates' Court Intervention Order Support Service (IOSS)

Women who wish to apply for an intervention order at Ringwood Magistrates' Court can receive assistance from the Court Applicant Worker with free legal advice from legal services on Tuesday and Friday mornings at Ringwood Magistrates' Court. This program is operated in collaboration between the Court, Eastern Community Legal Centre, Victoria Legal Aid, and EDVOS.


Ringwood Magistrates' Court

The Ringwood Magistrates' Court provides a venue to apply before a Magistrate for a family violence intervention order. The court operates by way of appointment. Please call the Court Registrar on 03 9871 4444 to make an appointment and complete an application form outlining the details and history of the matter.
